When was your house built? 1916

What type of house is it? Craftsman Bungalow

Why did you purchase the property?

"Because we love hisoric neighborhoods!  My husband and I believe there is nowhere else like Cashmere.  We love looking out the window of our home and watching people(children and adults alike) using the swing set.

What do you hope will become of your home in 100 years?

"We hope to have it restored so all the future generations can enjoy it.  Historic neighborhoods give yo a sense of place."

Did neighbors offer you tips as you were working on your home?

"Yes.  We got good tips from a neighbor who has a great dealof expertise on these homes."

History:

Occupied by John Prentis while house at 420 Cottage Ave was under construction.  Subsequently owned by Robert and Hattie Parsons from 1926-1937.  Robert was a city employee.  Son "Deke" Parsons and wife Bebe occupied house into the 1950's.  He was a clerk at the Post Office.  She owned Shipley's Cafe in downtown Cashmere.
