Apple Days - bringing back memories of times past

Cashmere Apple Days featured a myriad of activities for kids. Here, Bobby Sue (probably not her real name) finds success in a world of water and apples.

Another Apple Days weekend has been stored away, but the harvest of fun memories will stay around.

Did you enjoy a sasparilla as you watched a shoot out with Japanese cowboys? Did you hit the balloon target as you shot with your bow and arrow? Or did you get face painted by Cashmere Royalty and then jump on the trampoline with the Wenatchee Youth Circus members?

I enjoyed deliciously warm cobbler from the Boy Scouts, and listened to the heavenly voices of the Seventh Day Adventist Girls Choir, followed later by music from the Cashmere Jazz Band.

With any type of volunteer organization, there are many people to thank, but I will keep my list short:

Crunck Pak donated funds to cover the cost of the hired musicians; Blue Star donated apples for the Apple Pie Contest bakers and a bin of apples for visitors to enjoy all weekend.

Thank you also to Cashmere Royalty - Queen Jordan and Princess Adi for working as creative face painters in the kids craft area.

And thank you to the teens who gave their time both days to set up, cabin sit, help with crafts, and be general 'gofers': Amanda Whitehall, Cody Lippert, Dani Kenoyer, Nikki Hinkle, Tracy Cervantes and Ellen Perleberg (also a pie contest winner!). It was fun to have your enthusiastic energy and help.
