The Cashmere Coffeehouse continues to attract unbelievable bluegrass music talent to the Wenatchee Valley. This show will be one that falls under the "Can't Miss" category on your entertainment schedule.
DO NOT MISS the Cashmere Community Coffeehouse, Saturday, October 15th, 7:30pm blockbuster show with ALAN MUNDE & ADAM GRANGER. Books could be written on the extraordinary musical history and accomplishments of these two master musicians. The sheer musical knowledge these two highly respected pickers meld together is, well, staggering. ALAN MUNDE considered one of bluegrass’ most influential and innovative banjo pickers and ADAM GRANGER author of “Granger’s Fiddle Tunes for Guitar”, the largest collection of fiddle tunes for guitar tablature in the world, are guaranteed to deliver a night of musical mastery and a bottomless repertoire of tunes that will leave you as filled and satisfied as a Thanksgiving dinner.
ALAN MUNDE is considered one of bluegrass music’s most influential and innovative banjo pickers. Alan has contributed to and played with a collection of bluegrass music’s most well known pickers and legends. From playing with the Flying Burrito Brothers, cutting his teeth on traditional bluegrass with Jimmy Martin & the Sunny Mountain Boys, producing in the 70’s with Sam Bush, the well known album Poor Richard’s Almanac, contributing to the 2001 IBMA Instrumental Album of the Year - Knee Deep in Bluegrass and his 21 year reign with the landmark bluegrass band, Country Gazette, Alan has blazed a bluegrass path few can claim. Alan also has several instructional publications for the banjo and since 1986, has taught Bluegrass and Country Music at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas, a program which has produced many professional musicians nationwide. Alan's extensive body of recorded work, his instructional materials, and his work at South Plains has solidified his status as one of the true 'gurus' of the 5-string. Alan currently serves on the Board of Directors of the International Bluegrass Music Association.
ADAM GRANGER is a Minnesota Bluegrass Guitarist of the Year and has served as a judge at the International Flatpick Guitar Contest in Winfield, Kansas. Adam’s career in music is extensive and varied. Not only does Adam harbor one of the most vast and extensive collections of fiddle tunes, tabbed for guitar, he is an extraordinary picker and composer, as well as a gifted emcee, having stepped in for Garrison Keillor and co-hosting the award winning television show “The Cedar Social”. In the mid 70’s upon moving to Minnesota, Adam became a charter member of the original Powdermilk Biscuit Band on A Prairie Home Companion, where he still appears on occasion. Adam was also part of Oklahoma’s infamous The Upper Middle Grass band. In his recent history, Adam has been focused on writing books and articles on music in general and the flatpick guitar technique in particular. He has written hundreds of scripts, articles and comedic sketches for A Prairie Home Companion, National Lampoon magazine, Recycled Greeting Cards and Bluegrass Unlimited magazine and has been a columnist for Flatpick Guitar Magazine since 1996. For the last 35 years, he has taught rhythm and lead guitar, stage presence, songwriting and ear training, at camps around the US including our own Puget Sound Guitar Workshop. It is no stretch to say that Adam has done it all.
