Museum volunteer Donna Wynne works with two CHS students to clean a cabin at the Pioneer Village in preparation for the upcoming Apple Days celebration. Wanna help? Call the museum at 782-3230.
Spending a lovely, sunny, Saturday morning cleaning 100 year old cabins of their cobwebs and dusty corners doesn't sound like the way I would want to use my time. However, 20 volunteers turned out this weekend to vacuum, shake rugs, wipe windows, and weed gardens at the Cashmere Museum Pioneer Village in preparation for Apple Days.
Many of the volunteers were Cabin Sponsors such as the Horan Family, members of the Wenatchee Millersburg Questers, and the Weythman Quester ladies. However, there were also high school students working toward their community service hours.
Those who didn't make it on Saturday, but attended separate work parties on their cabins included the Cashmere Lions, The Retired School Employees, and the Hanson Family.
From the beginning, the Museum has been a community volunteer organization. If you can give time this week to prepare for Apple Days, please call the Museum at 782-3230 to find out how you can help.
