Get Ready For The Fair!

The Chelan County Expo Center is home of the Chelan County Fair, which runs September 9-12 this year.

The 2010 Chelan County Fair is just around the corner! And what a Fair it’s going to be!

Cashmere has been the site of the Chelan County Fair since it started in 1952, and ours is the 18th largest fair in the state (there are 49 fairs statewide.)

This year the theme is “Makin’ tracks to the Fair.”

Tip your cowboy hats to the Chelan County Fair Board of Directors – these folks literally work year-round on this big event and many of them work closely with kids who are preparing to participate in a variety of activities at the fair, from fruit trays and photographs, to responsibly raising, caring for, and showing animals. The Fair Board is dedicated to making every year’s Fair even better than the last. When you see members of the Fair Board at the Fair this year, please take a moment to thank them for all of their hard work!

The Fair Board’s Mission statement sums it up very well: “The Chelan County Fair exists to promote a family event reflecting the past, showcasing current accomplishments, and looking to the future of the county’s best resources – its youth, agriculture, and communities.”

As with many events here in Cashmere, each year volunteers play a critical role in the success of the Fair.

The 2010 Chelan County Fair is only two weeks away… be sure to make your own tracks to the Fair!

Stay tuned for more information!
