Grouse season is the start of my favorite time of the year.
Today is opening day of grouse season! Some bird hunters are already afield looking for their first grouse of the season.
According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Upland Game pamphlet, the daily bag limit is 4 grouse of any species (except Sage grouse, Sharptail grouse, and ptarmigan, which are off-limits statewide), and the season runs all the way to the last day of the calendar year, December 31st.
Also starting today is archery deer season. Early archery elk season starts Sept. 7th.
Hunters: Every hunting trip has an interesting story! Please consider sharing any of your hunting stories and photos from hunting season this fall with your friends and neighbors here on Cashmere World. It’s really easy to load stories and photos – just click on the “Submit Your News” tile on the website’s home page and follow the directions.
