New event - Chelan County Fair features a BBQ Cook-Off

Do you love slow-smoked traditional BBQ? Have you wondered exactly what excellent BBQ really is? Here is your chance to judge and taste some of the best BBQ in the West.

Becoming a qualified contestant permits you to fully participate and prove your "stuff" in the CHELAN COUNTY FAIR "Behind the Grandstands" BBQ Cook-off Contest held Saturday September 10th at the Chelan County Fair.

This new event is part of the new Innovations Building and is dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of barbecue in Chelan and Douglas Counties.

The "Behind the Grandstands" BBQ Cook-off Contest is committed to educating the public in the furtherance and development of authentic barbecue knowledge through an annual competition at the Fair. This event is sponsored by Latino Marketplace on Grant Road in E.Wenatchee.

If you are not into competition then you can join in the sampling in the Wine Garden after the event.

There is a $50.00 entry fee, and the winner will receive $400 cash.

Entry applications are available at Valley Feed Store in Wenatchee and the Chelan County Fair office.
