School Begins With Many "Firsts"

All three schools were a flurry of activity this morning as Cashmere's kids begin a new school year.
It's back to the classroom today for Cashmere students and teachers. For many, it's a day of “firsts."
It’s the first day of kindergarten for anxious 5-year-olds and their parents at Vale Elementary School; the first day of 5th grade for wide-eyed students new to Cashmere Middle School; the first day for freshmen – the class of 2014 – at Cashmere High School.
And it’s the first day of their long awaited senior year for the Class of 2011; the beginning of the end, for many in the class, of 13 years of education in the Cashmere School District.
The lazy days of summer are over - time to get back to work, students!
Remember to slow down in school zones, drivers!
Let’s make the 2010-2011 school year a GREAT one!
