Buell Hawkins - Owner, Valley Tractor who has donated the use of their equipment for years to the Chelan County fair, and other similar activities through out the valley.
Think of the Chelan County Fair as a big wagon wheel from a Conestoga Wagon – you know, like the ones that the settlers used crossing the Great Plains when our country was young.
There are a many spokes needed to make the wheel of our Fair work: the Fair Board of Directors, the Chelan County Commissioners, Davis Shows Carnival, the Expo Center staff – you get the idea.
The success of the Chelan County Fair depends on all the spokes working together toward the goal of providing our county with a great Fair experience for visitors and locals alike.
One of those spokes is Valley Tractor and Rentals in East Wenatchee. Valley Tractor has been providing equipment for the Fair since the early 1970s, and they haven’t missed a year since. They provide equipment - ATVs, mules, and tractors - for transporting items, hauling manure, and grooming arenas.
In addition to providing equipment, Valley Tractor also supports the Livestock Auction by purchasing livestock from FFA and 4-H kids.
Buell Hawkins has been associated with Valley Tractor since 1975 and says, “Valley Tractor believes in giving part of what we have back to the communities and people who support us. It's not only required of us in being a good corporate citizen, it's good business. We have supported the Chelan County Fair for a long time and hope to continue that support in the future.”
Valley Tractor and Rentals – a Chelan County Fair Unsung Hero? Without a doubt!
Definitely an unsung hero - the fair survives because of contributions like Buell's.
